Step 1
Go to Adobe's Flash Slide Show Sample Application online. This can be found on Adobe's website (see Resources). This application comes with tutorials to get you started using Flash Slide Show.

Download the source code for the Flash Slide Show application. Click "Complete Visual Basic and FLA source files." A window will pop up prompting you to either open or save the files. Choose the save option and click "OK." The files will be saved to your computer's download folder.

Install the sample files to your computer. Double-click on the "Flash Slide Show" set-up icon to open the folder. Inside, you will find four folders and several loose files. Click "Extract all files" at the top of the window to unzip the folder. Click "OK" on the window that pops up and the files will extract into the same folder where the original zipped files are stored. The Flash Slide Show application will now be available for use when you need it.

Read the Overview of the Flash Slide Show sample application. This overview contains important information that can help you get started with the tutorial. It will help you to know what parts of Flash you need to focus on to create a Flash Slide Show.

Begin with part one of the tutorial on the Flash Slide Show Sample Application page of Adobe's website. Part one teaches you the Visual Basic elements that you need to create a Flash Slide Show. This includes the important core aspects of adding controls, components and core code.

Step 6
Click on the link for the second part of tutorial two at the bottom of the first tutorial to continue. Part two demonstrates how to take the images in Flash and string them together for one Flash file that can be used to create a Flash Slide Show.

Follow the link at the end of the part two tutorial to get to part three. Part three illustrates how you can take the Visual Basic element and combine it with the Flash element to assemble a working Flash Slide Show.
