How to Make a Good Light Yu-Gi-Oh Deck

Light monster cards in the Yu-Gi-Oh game have a few powerful monsters, but many others need help boosting their powers. A number of Light monsters' strength also lies in special abilities to help you cast spells or boost other monsters. If you are building a dueling deck around Light monsters, look for the right monsters that will work with each other. You main strategy will involve removing your opponent's monsters without fighting so you can attack your opponent directly.

Instructions

    • 1

Stock three Cyber Dragons in your deck. These Level 5 monsters have 2,100 attack points and can be instantly (Special) summoned if your opponent has a monster on the field and you don't.

    • 2

Include Mirage Dragons also. These monsters prevent your opponent from using trap cards in battle.

    • 3

Use Buster Blader as your strongest monster, but don't use one of your dragons to tribute summon it if you can help it. Buster Blader will benefit from your Cyber or Mirage dragons, as he gains 500 attack points for every dragon on the field.

    • 4

Play Magician of Faith cards face down in defense mode. When this card is flipped up (even when it's destroyed), you get a Spell card back that you used earlier in the game. Keep this card in defense mode due to its low attack power.

    • 5

Keep three Freed the Brave Wanderer cards and play them once you have a number of Light monsters in your Graveyard.
Freed can instantly destroy your opponent's strongest monsters if you remove two of those Graveyard monsters from play.

    • 6

Stock the deck with Spell/Trap cards that remove your opponent's monsters or prevent them from attacking, like Book of Moon, Nobleman of Crossout, Enemy Controller, Ring of Destruction and Creature Swap. Cards that destroy your opponent's Spell/Trap cards, like Mystical Space Typhoon and Heavy Storm, also help.
