How to Customize Your Car on Midnight Club LA

Midnight Club: Los Angeles is the sequel in the popular racing video game series Midnight Club. You can play it on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game boasts 43 cars and 3 motorcycles with more extreme difficulty added to the gameplay. In an expansive replica of Los Angeles, you play as a character who joins street races to earn money. The more money that you earn throughout the game, the more you progress in challenges and increase the capability to upgrade your car.

      Start the game, select from the available cars, and begin customizing your car to your preferences. Your choices for customization are limited in the beginning; you can customize your car's color and exterior, such as adding a spoiler.

      Race and earn cash to buy parts to customize you car. Earning more money from winning races in Game mode will give you more options for customizing your car.

      Press the "Start" button at any time to go the main menu and then choose the "Garage" option. Once in the garage, you can get anything customized or fixed on your car, as long as you have money to pay for the additions.

      Make your car faster and better by upgrading your acceleration, handling and speed with purchase new electronics, nitrous oxide, and air intakes by clicking the options for upgrading speed. The electronics you can purchase include a computerized fuel injectors system, nitrous oxide booster, GPS system and electronic cooling system.

      Click on "Parts" to buy new parts for lights, engine, transmission and tires. Click the "Paint" option to give your car a fresh paint job. Midnight Club: LA comes with the newest option of fully customizing the interior of your car by clicking the "Customize Interior" option. Using the "Vinyl Editor" you can change designs of your seats and you can also buy different designs for your dashboard, steering wheel and stereo system---and even tint for your windows. You can view the interior when you choose the first-person camera view while you're driving, which will make it possible for you to see all of the additions you've made to the interior of the car.

      Click "Special Moves" (in the garage options) to give your driver more personality and a distinct driving style. This new feature requires you to use your racing earnings to purchase new moves, but can be extremely helpful with advancing in the game. Choose the "Zone" move to slow down time when taking turns. The "Roar" move enables you to maneuver shock waves to your opponents. The "EMP" sends an electromagnetic field to your opponents, shutting their engines down. Use the "Argo" move to give your car more strength against damage during races.

  • Customizing your car is necessary when racing against harder opponents in the game. In the Story mode, it may also be necessary to customize your paint job to to impress other racers and help to persuade them into joining your racing team. If your car is in need of a certain part due to damage, when you enter the "Parts" section, a pop-up message will indicate that you need the part.
