Find a camera that suits your needs. Assuming you already have a YouTube account (if not you can sign up from the link below) the first thing you will have to do is have a camera. Anything from a webcam to a camcorder will do depending on what type of videos you want to make.

Build your subscriber base. The best way to build your subscriber base is to post quality videos. Why? Because you want people who really want to watch you, subscribe to you. Having subscribers that aren't watching your videos won't help you in the long run.

Apply For Partnership. Once you have reached a certain amount of subscribers and your videos are getting 1000+ hits each it's time to apply for partnership. If you read my article on How To Make Money From YouTube Without Being a Partner (link below) then you can skip the next step and go straight to Step 5.

Apply For an Adsense Account. If you apply for partnership first, YouTube will tell you to set up an AdSense account if you get accepted. The best thing to do is apply for an AdSense account as soon as possible if you have a blog or website outside of YouTube that way it only takes a few hours to get accepted. It can take up to three days to get accepted if you don't have the account already set up.

Optimizing Your Videos. Once you have been accepted into the Partner Program, the next thing to do is create videos that are rich in keyword content. That doesn't mean create misleading titles, it means start adding recent content into your videos to generate a broader audience. It also draws in people searching for the keywords you use, and the ads you have next to your videos will be more relative to it therefore creating more revenue or money. You should look into SEO to find more information on it.

Once you follow those steps you can start to earn a decent income from YouTube. As your channel grows you will obviously make more and more money, just remember there are other ways to make some money online, and it won't be easy, so you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.

Tips & Warnings

  • Just as a Tip: There are channels with 500 subscribers that are partners, and channels with over 1500 who don't get approved. Quality > quantity ;]

  • Do Not do Sub4Sub. Saturating your subscriber list like that doesn't help views. Remember it's quality NOT quantity.
