Things You'll Need:
- High quality camera, a cute kid
-
Step 1
The picture must be of high quality. Something you took on your home camera or phone just isn’t going to cut it. The picture that you submit should leave the judges speechless. It should jump out at them. They shouldn’t want to look at any other pictures after they see your child’s. You may need a professional photographer to do this.
-
Step 2
Outdoor pictures are always a good way to go because you won’t have anything to sway the judge's decision, like clutter in the background or even the style of your home. Make sure the lighting is good and maybe some interesting scenery in the background.
-
Step 3
Pictures of kids in a grownup’s clothing are always a hit. It makes them look more mature than they are and that may give you an edge against the competition.
-
Step 4
It’s always good if you can get your child to pose for the picture. A candid shot can be a good one but this should almost be a headshot for your baby.
-
Step 5
Unfortunately you can’t really affect this one but I believe that girls have an advantage over boys. Girls are seen as cute and petite, while boys are seen as messy and rambunctious. This may be disadvantage in a photo contest.
-
Step 6
Keep trying. If it doesn’t work out in the first contest you try, don’t give up. There are plenty of contests available.

on 7/13/2009 If your camera has a 'sports' setting, use it because it will catch a child in motion! That is a great way to win!
