How to Find Night Crawlers

This is a simple to collect night crawlers for feeding fish or turtles. They can also be used for fishing and work great for catching big fish!

Things You'll Need

• Garden hose
• Yard
• Bucket
• Late night Person
• Flashlight

Instructions

1. With night crawlers costing more and more at the bait stores this is a great alternative.... catch your own night crawlers. The first step in collecting night crawlers is to find the part of your yard that you are going to use. I divide my yard into sections to collect from on different nights.

2. Next we want to take our garden hose out and soak the area with water that we want to collect from. Night crawlers hate water. Otherwise, a great time to do this to save on water is after a long steady rainy day.

3. 

   Now we wait for darkness to set in. After it is pitch dark walk outside to the area we soaked. Using a flashlight shine it on the ground. We should see night crawlers laying in the yard. Walk softly up to them and grab them and put them in your bucket. If you step to hard they will feel your vibrations and dart back into their hole.
