Sometimes my skin looks a little tired, and there's nothing like a nice exfoliating scrub to put the pink back in my freckled cheeks. However, I've found that my drains hate St. Ives Apricot scrub, so I decided to try something both cheaper AND water soluble.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

In a small bowl, mix together a few tablespoons of olive oil. Next, mix in a small amount of white sugar. The ideal is slightly grainy. Not so oily that you can't feel the scrub, but not so sugary that it's going to take your skin off. Test it on the back of your hand before you apply it to your tender cheeks, please.

  2. Step 2

Smear all over the dull, dry part of your skin and rub in, using a gentle circular motion. I like to do this in a warm shower, so that my skin absorbs some of the olive oil.

  3. Step 3

Remove using a damp washcloth. Blot dry. Your skin should be moisturized and glowing.

Tips & Warnings
  • Diabetics should use salt, not sugar. While applying it to the skin is not the same as ingesting it, it can still raise your glucose levels.
