Things You'll Need:
- 1 stick Softened butter
- 5 to 6 Really ripe bananas
- 2 Large eggs
- 3/4 cup Dark brown sugar
- 1 cup Whole wheat flour
- 1 cup White flour
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
-
Step 1
Banana treeBegin by selecting 5 or 6 nice looking bananas.
-
Step 2
Measure carefully!Use your measuring cups.
-
Step 3
Where did it all go??What you end up with will be gone before you know what happened!
-
Step 4
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, bananas, eggs and dark brown sugar. Do not pack the sugar when measuring.
-
Step 5
In a 4 cup measuring cup, mix together the flours, baking soda and salt.
-
Step 6
Use a wooden spoon to gently stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Then the batter goes into an 11 inch round baking dish. (Mine is a Pampered Chef stoneware.)
-
Step 7
Sprinkle the top liberally with sliced almonds.
-
Step 8
Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
-
Step 9
I don't generally like banana bread, yet I really enjoyed this bread. As you can see, the recipe disappeared too quickly to get a picture of the finished product. Obviously everyone else liked it too!
