How to Select the Right Paint for Exterior Stucco

If you live or have ever been to Sante Fe, New Mexico then you probably noticed that all the buildings are pretty much made of stucco. The city of Sante Fe wants to keep the native look about it because of its rich history, but how do you keep your stucco building looking good? How about some paint? In this article you will learn what paints are recommended to paint Exterior Stucco.

  1. Step 1

    In the second step your will see the many types of paints that you may use on Exterior Stucco that do not require any type of primer, sealant, or undercoat before painting. On the third step you will have another option that does require an undercoat of some sort.

  2. Step 2

    These are the paints that are recommended for you to use on Exterior Stucco that do not require any type of undercoat, sealant, or primer before painting: Latex Exterior Masonry Paint, Latex House Paint, Transparent Sealer, Cement Based Paint, Exterior Aluminum Paint, Primer, Undercoat, or Latex Type Paints.

  3. Step 3

    Here is another option that you may use on your Exterior Stucco, however it does require you to paint and let dry an undercoat, primer, or sealant before using this paint: Oil Based House Paint.

  4. Step 4

    Now that you know the different types of paints that come recommended for this project it is up to you to decide which one of these you want to use. Have fun!
