How to Clean a TFT LCD
Thin-film transistor liquid crystal displays (TFT LCDs) are used in computer monitors, televisions, hand-held games and mobile phones, just to name a few. The crystal clear pictures are made up of pixels, which are very sensitive. This is why special care must be taken when cleaning any TFT LCD screen. It is important that you review your TFT LCD manufacturer directions. Each manufacturer gives slightly different cleaning instructions; however, the below steps are most common.

1
Turn off and unplug the device that has a TFT LCD screen.

2
Use a microfiber cloth, special LCD cloth or eyeglass cloth. Dampen with an LCD cleaner. You may also be able to use white vinegar or isopropyl alcohol mixed with equal parts of water. Check your manufacturer directions. Do not use a paper towel or baby wipe.

3
Gently wipe the screen from the top to the bottom in even strokes. Do not apply any pressure, as that will damage the TFT LCD pixels.
-
4
Allow the screen to dry completely before using your device again.
