How to Convert MVI to Mpeg

There are dozens, if not hundreds of video formats available on the market today. Most are created to be used exclusively with a particular video software, such as QuickTime movies with QuickTime Player and WMV video with Windows Media Player. This is also true for still cameras. Most digital still cameras are capable of shooting a limited amount of video, and because there is no tape, it is saved as an MVI file format. However, the MVI file format is not compatible with other programs. Because of this, the files need to be converted to a format that is more widely used, such as MPEG. This is how to go about doing that.

Things You'll Need

  • AVS Video Converter
  • Using the link in the Resources section at the bottom of the page, download the AVS Video Converter. Double-click the downloaded file, then click "OK" and "RUN." Follow the prompts to install the program. Click "Finish" when the installation is complete, and AVS Video Converter will launch automatically.

  • Drag the desired MVI files into the "Input File Name" box.

  • Click the "To MPEG" button above the Input File Name box. It tells the converter that this is the format you wish to convert to.

  • Type in a desired output location and name in the "Output File Name" box.

  • Click "Convert Now!" and the file will begin to convert.
