Remove as much of the food particles as possible before using the enzyme cleaner. You can do this by grinding up ice in your garbage disposal, which will break up some of the lurking food residue in your garbage disposal system.

Flush the system with cold water for about 30 seconds.

Pour the enzyme-based cleaner into your sink, and let it sit overnight.

Flush the system with cold water for one minute.

Repeat monthly, or more often if needed.
