      Pull up a web browser on your computer. Go to the Avidemux website (see Resources).

      Download and install Avidemux to your computer if you do not already have it on there. Avidemux is freeware, so you do not have to pay for it.

      Click on the "Open" button on the toolbar. Select the video file that you want to convert to MPEG.

      Locate the pull-down menu by "Format." Click it to open it up and select MPEG as your file format.

      Select the "File" menu. Click on "Save" and then "Save Video" to save your video file as an MPEG. Once the conversion is complete and the new MPEG file has saved to your computer you can close Avidemux and begin using the new MPEG as you like.
