How to Install an Alpine Stereo in a Car

Alpine car stereos are considered by some to be the best in the world. Alpine makes a variety of car stereo head units that will replace the factory stereos in your vehicle. Typically, a factory stereo is concerned mostly with all around good sound. However, Alpine designs their car stereo equipment for performance-minded audiophiles. If you have removed your factory stereo and want to replace it with an Alpine one, you'll need to know how to install an Alpine stereo in a car.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Flat tip screwdriver Phillips head screwdriver Clean rag
  1. Step 1

    Locate the electrical connectors where the old factory stereo was located. There may be one or two of these connectors.

  2. Step 2

    Plug the electrical connectors into the back of the Alpine stereo. If you have two plugs, each plug will only fit into one slot on the back of the Alpine stereo.

  3. Step 3

    Slide the Alpine stereo into the dash and line up the mounting brackets on the stereo with the factory mounting brackets in the dash.

  4. Step 4

    Insert and tighten the self-tapping retaining screws to mount the Alpine stereo into the dash.

  5. Step 5

    Place the factory bezel over the stereo module and snap it into place on the dash. There may be four to six retaining clips that will have to snap into place before the bezel is secure.
