Maya is a high-end 3 D computer graphics and modeling software. Popular computer animated movies "Ice Age" and "Monsters vs. Aliens 3D" used the Maya software. When you perform operations on objects, new nodes are created and these operations are stacked on top of each other in the object's history. As the history grows, it affects the system performance. Follow a few basic steps to delete the history of the object for efficient system performance.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be aware that there are two methods to delete the construction history. You can delete the history of an object or delete the history on everything on your scene.

  2. Step 2

Select the object you for which you would like to delete the history. Choose "Edit" at the top of the Maya's workspace window. Select "Delete by type," and then click on "History" to delete the history of the object.

  3. Step 3

Choose "Edit" at the top of the workstation window, and select "Delete All by type." Then, click "History" to delete everything in your scene.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep in mind that an object's history includes its past and its future. Deleting the history will delete all construction nodes related to that object.
