Take Care of Your New Tongue Piercing
J.A.

Reading this article, you will learn the basics of taking care of a new tongue piercing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ibuprofen
  • mouthwash
  • toothbrush
  • tooth paste
  1. Step 1

Make sure your mouth is clean before getting your piercing, nobody likes bad breath!

  2. Step 2

Do a little research to find a good shop to get your piercing done. Ask people you know who have them where they got theirs done. Don't be too nervous when you go, it doesn't hurt bad at all. Everyone kept telling me this but I didn't believe it until I got mine done. Alright, now on to the after care!

  3. Step 3

Using ibuprofen, as directed by the label, will help control swelling as well as pain.

  4. Step 4

Make a mixture of half mouthwash and half water and take it everywhere with you.

  5. Step 5

Use your mouthwash after you eat or drink anything besides water for the first two weeks.

  6. Step 6

No exchanging bodily fluids, i.e. french kissing, for the first 2 weeks. I know it sucks, but you can't!

  7. Step 7

Take good care of your mouth. Brush you teeth and tongue regularly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Ask your doctor if it is okay for you to take ibuprofen.
