Things You'll Need:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- A container

Step 1
Before you remove the tick, it's important to have a container to with which you can place the tick. The container just needs to be something that you can close that will be air tight. A Jar or a plastic baggie is usually easy to attain and works well. To prepare the container, just dab a cotton ball with some rubbing alcohol and place it inside the bag or jar. (The fumes of the alcohol will suffocate the tick, it doesn't take very much.)

Step 2
After you have removed the tick, get some tweezers or similar tool and carefully place it inside the designated container. The Tick should die within a few seconds once inside the container. Do Not Throw the container away!

Step 3
The final step is to store and date the container. In the case that the bite becomes infected, a it will greatly help the doctor to know the date of the bite, and the area of the bite. Different ticks can carry different diseases and pose problems, so it's best to keep the tick in a safe place for several days until you are sure the wound will heal properly.
