Chocolate Raspberry Bars

Raspberry makes the perfect compliment to the chocolate brownies in this recipe. These sweet treats are perfect for parties, picnics, PTA meetings and more.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 package of brownie mix
  • eggs & butter (the amount depends on what your brownie mix calls for)
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar seedless raspberry jam For the topping:
  • 1 (10 ounce) package vanilla or white chocolate chips
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  1. Step 1

Make and bake brownies according to box instructions.

  2. Step 2

When the brownies are done, spread the WHOLE JAR of jam over brownies. (The more jam that you use, the more gooey the dessert will turn out!)

  3. Step 3

Melt the vanilla chips in the microwave, then stir until smooth.

  4. Step 4

Mix cream cheese and milk until smooth, then add the melted vanilla chips. Spread this mixture over the raspberry jam.

  5. Step 5

Melt chocolate chips and butter in the microwave, then stir the mixture until smooth. Drizzle or pipe over the cream cheese layer.

  6. Step 6

Now the chocolate raspberry bars are ready to eat!

If you like soft or gooey brownies, then you may want to enjoy these right away! This is a messy way to eat them, and you will probably need a bowl and spoon, but they taste SO rich and good! It's great if you like to eat cookies/brownies right out of the oven and goes great with vanilla ice cream too.

  7. Step 7

However, if you want to take these bars to a party or other gathering, you will want to refrigerate these immediately. They need to be refrigerated for at least 4-5 hours to get nice and hard so that people will be able to eat them as a finger food. Once they have been refrigerated, the top layer will be hard like a candy bar.
