Is the stylus you are using for your turntable starting to slip or slide over your records? If you have this problem, keep reading and it will show you how to replace or change it without buying a new one.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Try cleaning the stylus to see if that will help.

  2. Step 2

    If the first step doesn't work then take down the make, model, and serial from your turntable.

  3. Step 3

    Check and see if the stylus cartridge ( it should be the box on tonearm that the stylus was connected to) has a different make and model. Also write those down.

  4. Step 4

    Go to a local electronic store to buy a new stylus for the turntable. The store should all types of stylus listed in a book. Ask the sales person about your make and model of your turntable and cartridge.

  5. Step 5

    Now that you have the new stylus. Take out the old stylus. If the stylus you just brought does not come with directions these should help: Use one hand to hold the stylus cartridge stready. And use the other hand, with a pair of pliers grab the end of the needle and pull.

  6. Step 6

    Put in the new stylus. Hold the stylus from the top and press it in the space where the old stylus was at. Try not to force it in.
