How to Garden Pizza

A healthy alternative to regular pizza. Picking fresh vegetables out of the garden for this recipe adds to the flavor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese (use part-skim for a healthier alternative
  • 8 oz pizza sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup each finely chopped cauliflower, mushrooms, and broccoli
  • 1/4 cup each finely chopped red onion, green and red bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup banana peppers (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Roll dough into a 15 inch circle. Transfer onto a 14 inch round pizza pan greased. Build the edges of the crust up slightly. Place the 6 slices of cheese on the dough. Add salt, pepper, and garlic for added flavor.

  2. Step 2

    Spread the sauce over the cheese evenly. Use less or more sauce depending on your preference. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese evenly over the sauce. Sprinkle vegetables over cheese evenly. Add banana pepper rings after removing excess liquid.

  3. Step 3

    Bake at 425 for 15 min. Spread the remaining cheese over pizza and continue to bake for 5-10 more min. Once the cheese is melted and crust if golden brown pull out of oven and let cool. After a few min. of cooling the cheeses and toppings will stay in place.

  • Preheat oven to 425 before baking
