Step 1
YARD SALES/GARAGE SALES:
If you are diligent, you can occasionally find Legos at yard sales. Make sure you are getting a good price. Is the set in good shape? Clean? If it is a kit, how sure are you that most or all the pieces are there? If there are any problems with the set, chances are good that you can dicker down the price. If there are no problems with the set, you can still offer a little less than what the asking price is. If it is getting hot and close to closing time, people are far more willing to take less than the asking price. However, do BE FAIR! If the price is already a great deal, just pay the price and be happy with it. -
Step 2
CLEARANCE SALES:
Frequent the clearance areas of toy stores, Walmart, Target, etc. If you make it a habit to swing by the clearance sections, you may get lucky. Be aware that sometimes things advertised as "clearance" actually only give you 10 or 20% off. You can get something on sale for the same price as that. Look for 50% and more off the regular retail before considering it a good deal. -
Step 3
LEGO WEBSITE:
If you go to the Lego website, you can shop online there for occasional deals, or find a store to purchase what you want. -
Step 4
EBAY & CRAIGSLIST:
It is possible to get good deals on Ebay & Craigslist for Legos. Especially try to find the cool pieces this way. Make sure to check what shipping costs would be before buying. -
Step 5
FREECYCLE:
Chances aren't great that you find Legos on Freecycle, but sometimes people are willing to donate to a worthy cause. Ask for the Legos, but explain what you are using them for and you might get a giver.
