REX files are Propellerhead's Reason audio files. If you have REX files that you want to edit or do other things with, you can convert your REX files into WAV files. To do the conversion, you will need an audio converter program that supports each file format. The Konvertor audio converter supports REX to WAV conversion, and can quickly and easily convert any of your REX files while you wait.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open your Internet browser and go to the Konvertor website (see "Additional Resources," below).

  2. Step 2

Download and install Konvertor to your computer. There is a 30-day free-trial period. If you want to keep the program after that, you must purchase a registration key.

  3. Step 3

Launch Konvertor on your computer. Click the "Open" button from the toolbar to open the REX file that you want to convert.

  4. Step 4

Click "File" to open the file menu. Select "Convert to..." from the menu. The conversion dialog box will appear.

  5. Step 5

Select WAV as the output file type. Select a name and location for the new WAV file if you do not want it named and sent to the same place as the old REX file. Click "Convert" when you are done. When the conversion is complete, you will get a message on the screen letting you know. Click "OK" and you can use the new file.
