JELL-O coloring can create a tough stain to remove, depending on the surface, but with patience and elbow grease, that stain will go away. The sooner you start blotting the stain, the easier it will be to remove. Just follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Water Bucket Nylon scrub brush or large sponge Paper towels Non-bleach detergent White vinegar Spray bottle
  1. Step 1

Remove spilled JELL-O immediately with a paper towel. Don't wipe or smear the gelatin; pick it off with a paper towel.

  2. Step 2

On fabric, blot the stain with a damp sponge or moistened paper towel to remove as much of the stain as possible.

  3. Step 3

Scrub the stain gently using a nylon brush or sponge and a mixture of warm water and bleach-free detergent.

  4. Step 4

Spray white vinegar from a plastic squirt bottle on the stain and scrub gently with a nylon brush or sponge, blotting frequently with paper towels to draw out the stains.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the stain is gone, then allow the fabric to air dry.

  6. Step 6

Clean countertops and other nonporous surfaces using a soft-scrub cleaning product. For tile, a harsher abrasive such as Comet or Ajax is suitable.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not use bleach to clean the stain.
