Things You'll Need:

  • Sim City 3000
  1. Step 1

Install Sim City 3000. Installation may take a few minutes.

  2. Step 2

Begin by creating a new game, then entering in information about your new city, including the mayor's name. Confirm the information to begin. Tutorial messages will pop up from time to time to help you with various occurrences in your city.

  3. Step 3

Create zones for your city -- this includes classifications and densities. Types include residential, industrial, and commercial. A zone determines what can be built in it.

  4. Step 4

Build roads, bridges, tunnels, power plants and other structures as your funds allow. In Sim City 3000, you do not need to connect each building with a power line or water line. those

  5. Step 5

You also will need to build a waste management area. Place your city dump on the outskirts of town, as it causes nearby land values to drop significantly.

  6. Step 6

Barter with other cities. For instance: If you allow a neighboring city to use your water supply, you will receive a monthly payment from the city, but you also must produce enough water for both your city and your neighbor. Electric and waste management can be shared with other cities as well. You also can purchase services from neighboring cities, but you will owe them a monthly payment.

  7. Step 7

Accept or decline business deals from corporations that wish to build within your city. While the deals might be financially sound, they might not please your Sims -- and happy residents mean less riots.

  8. Step 8

Receive more detailed awards from your citizens while you help them through natural disasters that now include UFO strikes, but no longer include floods, plane crashes, and hurricanes.
