How to Change a Shower Fixture
Nothing is worse than going into the shower only to see water dripping out of the shower head. The simple, quick fix is to replace the shower head. Remove the old shower head with a pair of pliers. Turn the pliers counterclockwise. Only remove the shower head, and not the pipe.

Clean off any old tape or material on the pipe.

Wind some plumbers tape around the pipe's threads. Work in a clockwise motion (this will help it stay put when you put the fixture on). Go around the threads twice with the tape.

Screw your new shower head onto the pipe and tighten it by hand. Place a rag around the piece that is being tightened and use your pliers to snug it up. Do not over tighten.
