How to Use a Kabuki Brush
A kabuki brush is a short, wide makeup brush with soft bristles. It is used for applying mineral makeup, especially foundation. Mineral makeup is a loose powder that appears soft and light, but it is actually heavily pigmented and provides a lot of coverage, so a little goes a long way. A kabuki brush is designed to hold less of the mineral makeup so you don't accidentally put too much on your face. If used correctly, a kabuki brush can apply mineral makeup in a light layer for natural looking coverage. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Shake a small amount of mineral makeup into the lid of the makeup jar, and dip the kabuki brush gently into the mineral makeup. Tap the brush gently against the inside lid of the mineral makeup container to remove any excess powder.
-
2
Sweep the brush lightly across your forehead and chin. Then use downward strokes to apply makeup to your nose and cheeks. This prevents the makeup from getting caught in any fine facial hairs and appearing too heavy.

3
Buff your skin in circular motions with your kabuki brush to provide even makeup disbursement and coverage. Use additional downward strokes after buffing to blend the makeup into your skin.
-
4
Apply another light layer to any areas on your face that need more coverage. Use additional light layers rather than one or two heavy layers, or the makeup will be too thick and more prone to rubbing off.
