  1. Step 1

Give your baby gas relief medication. You can buy these medications over the counter in the infant care section. Mylicon is one of those medications, but Little Tummies is another popular brand.

  2. Step 2

Burp your baby after every feeding. Gas is often caused by air bubbles that get trapped in the tummy. Make sure you get at least one burp after every meal.

  3. Step 3

Massage your baby to help break up the gas and sooth their tummy. Lay your baby on their tummy or on their tummy across your knees. Gently rub their back in a circular motion.

  4. Step 4

Place a warm wash damp wash cloth on your babies tummy. This helps soothe and comfort a cramped tummy. Check it on your own skin to make sure it isn't too warm.

  5. Step 5

Move your babies legs while he or she is lying on their back. Gently lift the legs up towards the tummy and back straight several times. This can help gas move through the belly. Be mindful of your baby's tolerance for this activity.
