Step 1
Have the lumber yard cut all wood to measure. Make the cabinet frames. Drill pilot holes and then drop in a bit of wood glue to secure the screws you will use. Screw the two 3x6 foot boards to the 3x4 foot boards so that you have a carcass, another word for a frame.
-
Step 2
Nail the peg board to the back of the carcass. Use plenty of nails so that it doesn't gap open, about one nail every 8 inches. You will use pegs to hang up many of your tools on this peg board.
-
Step 3
Drill pilot holes and use wood screws to fasten the two 1/2 inch by 2 inch by 72 inch pine strips to the top and bottom of the cabinet.
-
Step 4
There may be exposed studs in your garage, but if not, use the stud finder to locate them. Drill pilot holes, and screw the cabinets to the studs through the top and bottom pine strips. Be sure to use a level.
-
Step 5
Attach the hinges to the left edge of the carcass and then fasten them to the door piece. Place the door pull on the front in a convenient position. Make as many more cabinets as you will need.
