Calendars are used for a variety of things, such as keeping track of appointments, marking important dates and making other memos. Making an editable calendar can be handy for business or personal use. Edits can be made to the calendar as needed at any time. Print only the months you want and make changes as desired. The easiest way to accomplish this is to create a calendar template. Doing this will only require Microsoft Word and a little time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Launch Microsoft Word's Document Wizard manually, if it does not open when you start Word. Select "New" under "File" on the menu bar.

  2. Step 2

Find the "Other Documents" tab and click it. Choose "Calendar Wizard." Place a mark by "Template." This is on the bottom right beneath "Create New."

  3. Step 3

Click "OK" to start the calendar wizard. Click "Next" after that.

  4. Step 4

Decide on the calendar style desired from the ones available. Put a mark by the one you choose. Click "Next."

  5. Step 5

Choose the calendar orientation from either Landscape or Portrait. Put a mark by "Yes" if you need to include a picture. Click "Next."

  6. Step 6

Figure out your "Start" and "End" months using the drop-down arrows. The default year for the editable calendar is the present year. Change this, if required.

  7. Step 7

Click "Next" and then "Finish" to access the newly created calendar template. Look over the calendars layout.

  8. Step 8

Change or put a picture on the calendar, if you choose this option. Use your mouse to select it.

  9. Step 9

Click on "Picture" found under "Insert" on the menu bar. Locate your graphic on your computer. Click on "Insert" to add it.

  10. Step 10

Save a copy of the calendar you created. Click on "Save As" located under "File" on the menu bar. Name the editable calendar. Click "Save" again.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can also use Microsoft Publisher or Microsoft Works to create an editable calendar. The steps may differ slightly, but most are the same. Print the calendar using the "Print" icon on the menu bar. You can also select "Print..." found under "File" on the menu bar to do this.
  • You can access the calendar at any time and make edits to it. If you want to save a copy of the new calendar, make sure you save it again. Use a different name or it will replace the original calendar you created.
