Technology has come a long way! Now it is possible to create all sorts of wonderful crafts with just your computer and an ink jet printer. This computer craft article explains how you can create a stained glass style votive candle holder with your computer. The faux stained glass style will be a great addition to your home decor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Graphics
  • Inkjet printable cling film
  • Ink
  • Razor blade or knife
  • Glass votive holder
  1. Step 1

The first step in creating a stained glass votive holder is designing the template for the inkjet cling film. You can do this by taking the smooth-sided glass votive candle holder and laying it on a piece of plain paper.

  2. Step 2

Then, as you roll the votive candle holder, trace the outside of it. For a perfectly cylindrical candle holder, the template will be a rectangle. For a fluted candle holder, the template will be more of a curved fan shape.

  3. Step 3

After you create the template shape, you must scan it into your computer graphics program. Then, you may draw or use graphics to decorate the template as you see fit. After the template is drawn and colored as you desire, simply print it out on the computer inkjet cling film. It is a good idea to print a sample on plain paper first.
