      Fill a bowl or basin with warm soapy water. Use a mild dish soap or Woolite.

      Gently place the rough emeralds in the water.

      Allow the emeralds to soak for 5 to 10 minutes.

      Scrub the emeralds with an old toothbrush to remove any loose dirt or debris.

      Rinse the emeralds in warm clean water and pat them dry with a clean dry cloth.
