Step 1
Obtain a copy of the original manual if you can. If you can get or already have the manual, then carefully read it. It is surprising how many people buy a piece of software only to never open the manual that comes with it.
-
Step 2
Try to get a new or used copy of one of the books written to explain Photoshop 6 back when it first came out, such as Photoshop 6 For Dummies or Adobe Photoshop 6.0 Classroom in a Book (see Resources.) You could also try the local used book store or thrift shop. They might have a copy of one of these just lying around.
-
Step 3
Go online to the various Photoshop tutorial sites. While most of these have long since moved on, some still have a few Photoshop 6 tutorials available, although you may have to pay for them (see Resources).
-
Step 4
Join some of the online graphics sites, such as Renderosity (see Resources). Many have a Photoshop forum where you can ask interact with people who have years of experience in Photoshop. Often, they are more than willing to help you with any problem or question you might have.
