Raisins and oatmeal add a chewy goodness to these crumbly, super-easy cookies from the Quaker Oatmeal Kitchens. This recipe makes about 3 dozen cookies or 35 bars.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 3 c. rolled oats
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Groceries
  • Cookie Sheets
  • Mixing Bowls
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Wire Cooling Rack

  1. Step 1

    Heat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

    Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

  3. Step 3

    Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.

  4. Step 4

    Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

  5. Step 5

    Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet, then remove to wire rack.

  6. Step 6

    Cool completely.

Tips & Warnings
  • Omit salt if desired.
  • To make bar cookies, press dough into ungreased 15-by-10-inch jelly-roll pan. Bake about 17 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely and cut into bars.
