Don't compromise your style just because you're on a budget.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, surf the net and/or flip through magazines to see what the stars are wearing. Let's face it, they come in contact with some of the best stylists in the industry. So, use them as inspirations to your style.

  2. Step 2

Decide what type(s) of style you want to emulate.(classic, retro, bohemian, rocker, etc.)

  3. Step 3

Look in your closet to see what all you have, that's in wearable condition. Everything that is not in wearable condition, (set in stains, un-fashionable rips and tears, etc.)get rid of it. However, do not get rid of something just because it's no longer in-style. It may make a comeback soon!

  4. Step 4

Create a budget for the new things that you are about to purchase.

  5. Step 5

Make a list of everything that your closet is lacking such as colors, styles, and accessories. Take this list shopping with you!

  6. Step 6

Stores like Forever 21, Target, and Express are all equipped with the inexpensive basics, like tees, tanks, and jeans. They also have their reasonably priced cocktail and party dresses.

  7. Step 7

Check out all of the clearance racks.

  8. Step 8

Get into vintage/thrift/resale shopping. At these stores, you will find all of your unique pieces that no one else has! Just wash or dry clean them before wearing.

  9. Step 9

For shoes, go to sites like zappos.com or shoes.com and search for shoes in your price range.

  10. Step 10

Once you're done shopping, create as many outfits out of mixing and matching your new and old things.
