Relieve Stress in Different Ways

Stress can be a main problem these days. Let's face it. Life can get us down. Jobs are scarce, money is tight. There are many things in the News, war, political scandals, it seems it never ends. But stress can be dangerous to your health. We must conqueror it or it will conqueror us.
Following are some suggestions I think will help.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A desire to overcome stress
  1. Step 1

    Help Others Help Themselves
By teaching others to help themselves you can feel good about yourself. Knowing you have contributed to their future lifestyle is a great feeling. There is a saying; Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach him to fish and he eats for a lifetime.

  2. Step 2

    Learn Something New
Life is full of things to learn. How things work and make things. Visit other places by getting documentary videos. Many things can be gotten on the internet or library.

  3. Step 3

    Comedies
Watch some comedies. The old ones are good. George and Gracie, The three stooges, or perhaps the newer ones will give you a chuckle. Just have a good laugh. And don't forget, watching nature or your children can be quietly amusing. Try to lighten up.

  4. Step 4

    Healthy Food
When one is under stress you can lose B vitamins. Eating healthy can help you feel better and handle stress better. And it will help your budget also.

  5. Step 5

    Clean
I know that can sound like a dirty word. But the actions of it can relieve stress. It will also make you feel better about your accomplishments.

  6. Step 6

    Turn off the News
Sometimes the news can be overwhelming. When you hear one story fifty times in a day or so, it can seem even bigger than it is. Take a break from all the news, or even better from television itself.

  7. Step 7

    Count Your Blessings
When we look at the bright side and count what God has given us, it makes us feel better. Stress will dissolve when we realize there is someone looking over us.

  8. Step 8

    Get Outside
It is always good to get out in the open air. If possible in the country, or at least a country setting like a park or even your back yard or patio. It will help you relax.

  9. Step 9

    Friends
It is always nice to have friends. Get together and just chat, or discuss the problems going on. It is nice to know you are not in this alone.

  10. Step 10

    Concentrate on Something Else
It is good just to keep busy and don't think about it so much. There is always something else to do. But don't let the busy busy stress you out either.

  11. Step 11

    Exercise
It is always good for the body and mind to exercise. It makes the blood pump and sends good stuff to all the parts of the body.

  12. Step 12

    In conclusion
Don't forget. Things usually aren't as bad as they feel. It will all pass in time. Trying these suggestions will help it pass in as pleasant manner as possible.

on 9/7/2009 This is all great advice. It's so important to count your blessings. I think a lot of people don't realize when they are under so much stress how it could be a lot worse than what it really is. Thanks. 5* and a rec. I will make sure to pass this on.
