Step 1
Food preparation must be checked. Depending on the day care, food may either be cater or prepared. Whatever the case may be, owners should make sure that the preparation of the food is done in a clean way. Proper hygiene must be observed. Make sure that the tables and utensils are clean and washed before using them. At the same time, you need to make sure that the people cooking wash their hands properly when handling raw food.

Step 2
Serving the food must be checked too. Make sure that food is maintained warm before serving to the children. Do not allow it to become stale, so only prepare the food when it is going to be served immediately. The people who are serving the food must also have their hands clean. This prevents the germs from travelling from the hand to the plate on to the food.

Step 3
The eating area must be kept clean before and after eating. A dirty dining table is big no-no since it can cause contamination of the food. When children touch the dirty table, they pick up the bacteria you know what happens next when they pick up the food or put their hand in their mouth. So day care owners must make sure that the tables are cleaned before and after eating.

Step 4
Always observe proper dishwashing of the utensils. Remember that children reuse these so these must be cleaned properly after every use. Have an organized system when it comes to proper dishwashing of eating utensils. This will prevent germs to adhere to the utensils and contaminate the next user. Make sure that you choose an effective cleanser and replace the sponge on a regular basis since bacteria can also build up in these.
