How to put Google Sketchup 6 Bonus Packs on Google Sketchup 7

Do you have Google Sketchup 6 and Google Sketchup 7? Have you ever wondered how to put Sketchup 6 BP (Bonus Packs) into Sketchup 7? Well here's your answer!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Sketchup 6 or Sketchup 6 Bonus Packs
  • Sketchup 7
  • Internet Browser
  1. Step 1

    Get on your Internet Browser and go to http://www.sketchup.google.com/
    and click Downloads > Bonus Packs. Then click "Looking for Sketchup 6 Bonus Packs?" and Donwload the ones you want. Don't change the Destination Folder when that comes up.

  2. Step 2

    Once those are done Downloading, run Sketchup 7. Then select Window > Components. The Component Browser will be displayed.

  3. Step 3

    Click the Details button (The little black arrow with the paper like thingy on it). The details menu appears.

  4. Step 4

    On Microsoft Windows, select "Open or create a local collection". On the Mac OS X, select "Open a local collection".

  5. Step 5

    On Microsoft Windows, browse to C:\Program Files\Google\Google Sketchup 6\Components and slect the desired folder. On the Mac OS X, browse to ~/Library/Application Support/Google Sketchup 6/Sketchup/Components/ and select the desired folder.

  6. Step 6

    Once you've found your desired collection, click OK to browse the collection.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can click "Add to Favorites" on the details menu for easy access to the collections.
  • Download Sketchup 6 and 7 and the bonus packs from the sketchup site. DO NOT download them from somewhere else, for that could let viruses on your computer!
