Instructions

    • 1

Identify what tools and equipment need to be stored inside the shed. Your list could include a lawn tractor, snow blower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, rakes, shovels, buckets, garden tools, fuel and supplies.

    • 2

Roll large pieces of equipment in first. For example, put a lawn tractor and snow blower in the shed side by side. This makes it easy to pull the large items out of the outdoor shed when needed. You can now see how much room you have to work with around the large items.

    • 3

Hang medium-size equipment such as weed trimmers, leaf blowers and small handheld equipment on the walls on storage hooks about a foot or two apart from each other. Spend time planning where to hang the tools before installing the storage hooks.

    • 4

Place your garden tools in one or more corners. Nail one end piece of rope about waist high to the side of the tools. Pass the rope in front of the garden tools and wrap it around a nail on the other side of the corner. The rope prevents the garden tools from falling over.

    • 5

Install a shelf on the back wall of the outdoor shed to store fuel, oil, gloves and similar items. Check with local fire officials on the proper storage of fuel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Spend plenty of time planning where to hang tools before installing storage hooks.

  • Check with local fire officials on the proper storage of fuel for both lawn tractors and outdoor grills.
