Remove stretch marks naturally.

Stretch marks occur when skin stretches quickly. This is usually due to sudden weight gain, such as during pregnancy. Stretch marks can appear on the thighs, abdomen, hips, upper arms, breasts or other areas of the body. A doctor can prescribe steroid creams or perform laser surgery to treat stretch marks, but there are natural ways to remove stretch marks that you can try at home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep skin supple and hydrated from within. Drink a lot of water to keep skin hydrated. Vitamin C, vitamin E, zinc, and silica are important for keeping skin elastic, which may prevent stretch marks in the first place. Take supplements or incorporate foods high in these vitamins into your diet on a regular basis.

  2. Step 2

Moisturize skin with creams and oils. Vitamin E capsules can be broken open and rubbed onto stretch marks. Massaging the area can help blood flow, which will facilitate quicker healing of stretch marks. While creams in themselves will not cause stretch marks to fade, they will help to alleviate itching and discomfort stemming from the stretched skin.

  3. Step 3

Give it time. Stretch marks fade over time, from a dark reddish or purple color, to a silver or white color. As months turn into years, stretch marks will be difficult to see in most cases.

Tips & Warnings
  • Consider embracing your stretch marks as a badge of motherhood.
  • Do not use any commercial stretch mark removal creams during pregnancy or when you are breastfeeding without asking your doctor first. Some contain ingredients which may be harmful to your baby.
