Save Money

By now, we have all known and learned many tricks to save money. In this crunch economy, every penny counts!

Many things we can do to cut down, such as using coupons when shopping, unplugging power cords when not in use, re-using items if we can, and limit on our spending.

Below are five more ideas you can do to save more money.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Time
  • Commitment
  • Internet
  • Be mindful
  1. Step 1

Cut down on water usage outdoor!

I collect rain water in buckets and my kids' pool to water my vegetables garden, and flower whenever I can. Not only I save money with my water bill, I also comply with our city mandatory on water conservation rule.

  2. Step 2

Turn off your power for 30 minutes a day!

It is summer, and the children are home full time. You can make it fun by telling them that the power is out for 30 minutes and take them outside.

There are many activities to do outside, such as baseball, looking for bugs, going to the park, go on a bike ride, or play "duck duck goose" game.

Unplug all your power cords for 30 minutes a day can lower your energy bills, and save you money.

  3. Step 3

Put your internet to good use!

If you need to buy an item like camcorder, or camera, do a search online. Go on your favorite shops' website and compare prices. At times, you can save much more money online with free shipping than driving around store to store.

  4. Step 4

Be careful when you are on the road!

As soon as you get in the car, put on your seat belt, and remind all your passengers to do the same. Avoid getting ticket will save you big bucks, including insurance cost!

Always drive at the speed limit! It is safer and more energy efficient. Gas burns faster at faster speed!

  5. Step 5

    Buy cotton waffle weave towels!

Fluffy towels take longer to dry than cotton waffle weave towels. As you know, dryer uses energy and can be expensive when it runs longer.

Slowly replace your old towels with cotton waffle weave towels since they are thinner and dry faster.

Tips & Warnings
  • Only run your dryer when you have a full load
  • Suggested driving speed is 60 MPH to get the most out of your gas tank
  • Save time, energy, and gas by shopping online
  • When you are done charging you phones, unplug the cords
  • Reuse your dish water to water your indoor plants
