Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Weed and Grass Killer
  • Gloves
  • A Shovel
  • Time and Patience
  1. Step 1

Depending on how overgrown the Kudzu is, the first step is to remove as much of it as possible. This can take some work, since Kudzu often grows up into trees.

  2. Step 2

Since Kudzu is a vine, make sure you follow the vine back to the roots. Then using the shovel dig up the roots. Don't just pull the roots up, because some will break off in the ground and grow back.

  3. Step 3

Next, spray the ground with a weed and grass killer. Kudzu doesn't always die if you use only weed killer.

  4. Step 4

Monitor the area regularly. At the first sign of kudzu regrowth repeat the above steps. Some Kudzu will grow back so it will take some time and patience, but you can successfully kill Kudzu vines.
