Step 1
How does it work?Understand the technology. Buzz Off clothing Insect Shield technology is EPA-registered, and works as an effective insect repellent.
Insect Shield clothing and gear products are treated with a formulation of the insect repellent permethrin, which is a synthetic version of pyrethroids that occur naturally in the pyrethrum flower (a type of chrysanthemum). In nature, when an insect flies too close to a pyrethrum flower, it almost instantly drops and falls limp.
Buzz Off clothing has been proven to repel mosquitoes, ticks, ants, flies, chiggers, and midges (no-see-ums). Insect Shield Repellent Gear has been proven to repel mosquitoes, ticks, fleas, and flies. -
Step 2
Browse online.Check out the wide selection of Buzz Off clothing and Insect Shield gear on a few popular websites. Amazon has some great deals. (See the Resources section on this page for a few good links to retailers who offer insect repellent clothing and gear.)
-
Step 3
For dogs, too!Consider getting some Buzz Off clothing for your dog. Your best bet: a colorful bandana. (The premethrin used to treat a Buzz Off bandana is the same ingredient found in common flea and tick treatments like K-9 Advantix and Bio Spot-Spot On.)
-
Step 4
Get geared up.Put some gear to the test. If you love Buzz Off clothing, you’ll want to try some of the great gear that also employs Insect Shield technology. Retailers like REI and Travel Chair carry tents, camping chairs and even hammocks!
-
Step 5
Have your favorite garments treated with Insect Shield bug repellent. One article of clothing will cost about twenty bucks with shipping and handling. And, the rates go down for additional items. You could have twenty of your garments treated with insect repellant for around $150 bucks with the shipping costs included! You definitely aren’t limited to what the Buzz Off clothing line offers.
