Get Rid of Dog Urine Carpet Odors with Grapefruit Seed Extract

Hate the smell of dog urine carpet odors and the unsanitary feeling it leaves behind? Part of puppy training and living with senior dogs is the occasional dog urine accident on the carpet. You don’t have to live with the germs and the odor. You can save money by using grapefruit seed extract to get rid of dog urine carpet odors and sanitize your rug simultaneously.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Grapefruit Seed Extract
  • Steam Cleaner
  • Hot Water
  • Spray Bottle
  1. Step 1

Combine one ounce of grapefruit seed extract in a spray bottle filled with water.

  2. Step 2

Heavily spray the dog urine carpet area. Allow the spray to sit on the carpeting for approximately 5 minutes to pretreat the dog urine.

  3. Step 3

Fill steam cleaner holding tank compartment with hot water and no soap. The grapefruit seed extract will get the dog urine and the odor out of the carpeting.

  4. Step 4

Steam clean dog urine carpet area as you normally would.

  5. Step 5

Dry clean area with a fan.

  6. Step 6

Lightly spray the dog urine carpet area one more time with solution (from step 1).

on 7/19/2009 I'll have to share this with my Mom. She has the problem with her dog Fluffy and she's about ready to pull up the carpet and live on the concrete.
