2
Place a layer of cherries in the sterilized container and cover with a thick layer of sugar. Complete this task by repeatedly making a layer of cherries and then a layer of sugar until the container is full and all of the cherries have been used.

3
Place container in the refrigerator overnight so that the cherries and sugar have time to incorporate with one another. The next morning add the entire bottle of Vodka to the mixture and seal the container with an air tight lid.

4
Place the container in a closet for 6 months. Go in daily and shake the container, but never open it. This mixes the vodka and the cherry mixture so that they incorporate and don't separate over time.

5
Strain off the liquid and store in a bottle with a lid after the 6 months. Store the bottles in the refrigerator for 6 months in order for the alcohol to firmly set in the bottles and age properly.

Tips & Warnings
There are faster ways of making this mixture, but they are only done in factories and require special machinery. If you do not have a closet to place the container in, simply keep it in the basement out of direct light. The area simply has to be dark and cool, with the temperature not rising above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not cook the cherry mixture, as this will cook off the alcohol content once the vodka has been added.
