How to Reset a Genie Pro Garage Door Opener

Genie garage door openers are one of the most widely sold garage door accessories on the market. Genie offers controllers, wireless keypads and other passcode protected devices. The Genie Pro remote garage door opener is a popular feature that allows remote access to a garage door. It can be set and reset when the device is bought new, as well as if it stops working or loses its signal with the garage door motor.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Genie Pro remote garage door opener Garage door motor
  1. Step 1

    Find and press the Receive Learn Code button on your garage door motor, located in your garage. This button is often small and located on back of the motor near the protruding wires on the device.

  2. Step 2

    Wait for the signal button on the motor to start blinking and turn off. This should take about 30 seconds.

  3. Step 3

    Point your remote at the motor (at least two feet away from the motor) and slowly press the open button on the remote three times.

  4. Step 4

    Wait for the red light on the motor to respond once again. Your remote will now be reset.

  5. Step 5

    Press the open button on your remote to activate the door and test the reset.
