Instructions

    • 1

Clear a level area to install the playground equipment on. This area should be free of any debris that may be in the "fall zone" of the playground. The fall zone is anywhere a child might play on the equipment and be able to fall on the ground.

    • 2

Mark any utilities that are in the area. It is a good idea to know where any underground pipes or conduits may be in relation to your new playground.

    • 3

Designate the four corners of your new fall zone. Use one of the corners of the fall zone as a reference point for where the equipment should be located within the fall zone. Each piece of playground equipment should have a platform as its base. Mark off the area where each platform is to be located in relation to that one corner, then mark where to dig for each surface.

    • 4

Dig holes to a depth of about 26 inches. This number may vary, depending on what type of equipment or surfaces are used for the playground.

    • 5

Double-check that all lower platforms are going to be at the same level. Depending on the type of platform, the holes needed to secure the equipment may need to be adjusted. Insert posts into the holes.

    • 6

Bolt the platforms to the posts that have been inserted into the holes. Add any additional walls or other structural points that will help with equipment stability. Once the posts have been checked for plumb, pour concrete into the holes to permanently secure the equipment.

    • 7

Add additional playground equipment to this structure using step-by-step guides supplied by the manufacturer. Once all the desired pieces have been added to the structure, the playground is complete.

Tips & Warnings

  • Failure to closely follow manufacturer recommendations could result in injury or even death for anyone playing on the equipment if it fails.
