How to Shuffle Yugioh Cards

Yu-Gi-Oh! is the wildly successful trading card game from Konami that allows players to use powerful cards of varying rarity to engage each other in duels for fun and tournaments. The cards themselves can be very valuable, and collecting is a major part of the hobby. It is important to protect your cards from normal wear and tear, as each bent corner or scratch can devalue a card or even render it unusable for official tournaments. Using card sleeves and an overhand shuffle will enhance the value and longevity of your collection.

Things You'll Need

  • 40 to 60 card sleeves

Instructions

    • 1

Place each Yu-Gi-Oh! card in its own card sleeve, with the face of the card against the transparent portion of the sleeve.

    • 2

Hold the deck sideways in the palm of one hand.

    • 3

Put your thumb behind the card on top of the deck, and carefully lift a few of the cards on the bottom above the rest of the deck.

    • 4

Flick the cards by moving your thumb forward, and insert the lifted cards.

    • 5

Repeat this process as many times as desired. The more you practice this overhand shuffle, the faster and more efficient it will become.

Tips & Warnings

  • Loosely holding the cards is the key to this technique; a firm grasp results in cards on the floor.

  • Never bridge or riffle shuffle your Yu-Gi-Oh! cards. This causes wear on the corners and warps the card over time.
