      Determine which benefits you want to apply for. You can apply for more than one, but each benefit program may require different information.

      Visit VA.gov and click on Apply Online. There is a drop-down menu of available benefts. The applications can be downloaded and returned online, by email, or regular mail.

      Call the VA directly if you don't have Web access. The number is 1-800-827-1000. This hotline is staffed by people who will direct you to your nearest VA office and you can apply for benefits in person there.
