How To Make Donuts At Home

  1. Step 1

Sprinkle a scoop of flour onto a clean, flat surface.

  2. Step 2

Pop open the can of biscuits and lay each biscuit out on the floured surface.

  3. Step 3

Use a rolling pin to flatten each biscuit.

  4. Step 4

Dip the drinking glass or cookie cutter into flour then cut the dough into uniform circular shapes.

  5. Step 5

Dip the rim of a shot glass or smaller cookie cutter into the flour and form the donut holes. Set those aside.

  6. Step 6

Pour at least 2 inches of oil in a frying pan and heat until the oil begins to bubble.

  7. Step 7

Using a metal spoon, carefully drop each donut into the hot oil. Allow to fry for at least 2 minutes, or until one side is golden brown. Flip over.

  8. Step 8

Remove the donuts when both sides are golden brown. Allow them to cool on paper towels.

  9. Step 9

To make a glaze, blend powdered sugar and milk in a small mixing bowl. Slowly pour the milk into the powdered sugar while stirring constantly. This will help prevent lumps from forming. Pour glaze over hot donuts.

Tips & Warnings
  • In effort to avoid wasting the donut holes, fry them as well for an additional treat.
  • Never allow children to work near the hot oil.
