How to Learn Korean Vocabulary
Learning Korean, with its two written language forms (hanchu and hangul), can be challenging. However, with a little practice, you can learn both the spoken and written forms of hundreds of words and phrases by using flashcards and testing your vocabulary online.
Instructions
-
-
1
Read each word you want to learn from the textbook or dictionary aloud in Korean and then read the English meaning.
-
2
Copy each word onto an index card, with the Korean ideogram on one side and the phonetic pronunciation and English meaning on the other side. Create as many flashcards as you like.
-
-
3
Shuffle the cards and draw a card at random. Say the Korean word out loud and state the English meaning before turning it over to check yourself. If you were correct, put the card aside for the current study session and go on to a new card. If you miss the card, shuffle it back into the deck so that it will come up again later.
-
4
Draw up to 20 cards per study session and focus on those words and phrases. By using Internet resources, you can also test yourself online.
-
5
Start each new study session with a test of the words you learned the previous time, and then move on to new words.
